The course is an introduction of use of communication and information systems and processes to promote national and regional development to support specific development projects and to facilitate social change. By the end of the course the students will have gained exposure to a variety of approaches, flexibility to adapt to specific social, political, cultural and economic realities. Through the course the students will deepen their understanding of development, the history of development communication theories, development communication study as a multidisciplinary field, nature of aid agencies, debates on information flow and new technologies, the role of education in development and the place of faith in development communication.
