Course Description

This course is an introduction to the process of social scientific research including among others the concepts in research, stating the problem, the literature review, sampling techniques, approaches to research, use of statistics in communication research, data analysis, writing and presenting a research report, and ethical considerations.


Course Purpose

The course intends to give the student foundational knowledge of social science research with emphasis to the area of communication so as to enable the student design a research project independently, conduct and/or supervise research projects for various practical and academic uses.
