ENH 326A GENERAL ENTOMOLOGY

The PURPOSE of this course is to enable the learner to acquire knowledge in the biology, ecology and control of insects and other arthropods. The Arthropods are the most successful members of Kingdom Animalia. Insects are known to influence human health, agriculture, environmental and general domestic environment. Students of environmental health need to relate the biology, lifecycle, favourable environmental for insects and their control to develop control tools and initiatives for protection of humans and exploit insects for improved human lives. They should also be able to see insects as part of the ecosystems and therefore see the bigger picture of the insect’s role in the environment.
